Book

Earlier this week I was in the science library looking for 'fortran for dummies' when I found something so, so, so, so much better.

You may or may not recall that David Foster Wallace is one of my absolute favourite writers. His book 'Broom of the System' is responsible for some of my stranger speech mannerisms (referring to things as being suck, etc). Up until that day in the science library, it seemed that he had disappeared/stopped writing new books for about four years...

Apparently, he spent that time researching and writing Everthing and More: A compact history of infinity.

My favourite novellist wrote a book about math. The best of both my favourite worlds. The book is completely and utterly awesome and you should all read it.


Also: Last night I went to the movies with Jacinta and her friend Mel. We saw In My Father's Den, an entirely NZ-made movie. It was really really good...but so sad it kind of ruined the rest of the night. We all came out of the theatre wanting to go home, get fetal and mope. I think Mel half-heartedly suggested going to De Lusso for a drink, but she didn't even really mean it...

To make up for it, tonight she is coming over and we three will watch FUNNY movies then go out dancing. Wish me luck.
